With the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung has three great smartphones. In addition to differences in the areas of camera and display, the different sizes are particularly noticeable. You can find out which Galaxy S21 size is right for you here.
From pleasantly handy to impressively large, the three Samsung cell phones offer you a decent selection. If you have never held your new dream smartphone in your hands before, you could be in for a surprise when unpacking it after an online purchase. So that this doesn’t happen, we’ll go into more detail about the Samsung Galaxy S21 size and show you how you can better estimate it.
You will have known it before: The Samsung Galaxy S21 5G is the most miniature model. This is followed by the Galaxy S21 FE and then the Galaxy S21+, which the Galaxy S21 Ultra surpasses. When it comes to the question of which model is suitable for you in terms of size, it makes sense to get an overview and, if necessary, to use comparisons. This helps if you don’t access your desired model in advance. Our article presents you with some options that will make it easier to estimate the Samsung Galaxy S21 size.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra: size and weight
The Samsung Galaxy S21 is the most miniature model in Samsung’s flagship range. With dimensions of 151.7 x 71.2 x 7.9 mm, it is nice and handy and relatively thin at the same time. This allows the Samsung Galaxy S21 size to be compared very well with the Galaxy S20 size. At 151.7 x 69.1 x 7.9 mm, the predecessor is slightly narrower than its successor. Most users should not notice this in everyday life.
If you are currently an Apple user and are toying with the idea of switching to the Galaxy S21, you can compare it to the iPhone 11: At 150.9 x 75.7 x 8.3 mm, it is about the same size as the Galaxy S21 from Samsung. If you are afraid that the Samsung smartphone might be too bulky, we can reassure you: Due to the narrow edges and the lower weight, the Samsung Galaxy S21 is much more comfortable to hold than the Apple iPhone 11.
As the name suggests, Samsung’s Galaxy S21+ 5G is slightly larger than the Galaxy S21. With this, the South Korean manufacturer wants to reach another target group. If handiness is not as important to you as the screen size, this model could be more enjoyable. With dimensions of 161.4 x 75.6 x 7.8 mm, it’s larger than its little sister model, but it’s still easy to use. In addition, an OLED display of this size is, of course, a bit more impressive.
A good comparison to the Apple universe can also be drawn with the Galaxy S21+ size: the iPhone 12 Pro Max is roughly the same size as its Samsung counterpart with 160.8 x 78.1 x 7.4 mm. It is also noticeable that the Apple smartphone is slightly wider here. Nevertheless, if you have a friend or colleague who owns an iPhone 12 Pro Max, you can get a good impression of the Galaxy S21+ size in advance.
Do you know one, or maybe you are the owner of the predecessor yourself? It’s even better: The Galaxy S20 + size is almost the same as the Galaxy S21 + with dimensions of 161.9 x 73.7 x 7.8 mm. Here you can see once again that Samsung seems to have found its product sizes. In the past, smartphones from most manufacturers have often gotten bigger every year. This development appears to have leveled off with the current models.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra is the current top model of Samsung’s flagship series and thus offers the best equipment in all areas. This also includes the most significant and best OLED display of the three Galaxy S21 models. With a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels on a size of 6.8 inches, this is extremely sharp. This is how the Galaxy S21 Ultra conveys content such as videos spectacularly.
But that also costs space: With dimensions of 165.1 x 75.6 x 8.9 mm, the Galaxy S21 Ultra size can confidently be described as bulky. This makes it one of the largest smartphones on the market. The thickness of the top model, in particular, makes it appear chunky compared to the Galaxy S21+. The weight also confirms this: At 227 grams, it is a lot heavier than the Galaxy S21+ (202 grams). This can be not very pleasant for some of you in everyday life. But of course, you only have the best hardware under the hood.
As you may have already realized, the Galaxy S21 ultra size does not translate easily into the Apple universe. The iPhone 12 Pro Max is roughly the same size, but to make an adequate size comparison, you’re more likely to find what you’re looking for from other manufacturers. For example, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is a good choice here. This comes with 164.3 x 74.6 x 8.4 mm and thus differs only slightly from the Galaxy S21 Ultra size. This is also an excellent way to determine whether the high weight is something you can live with: At 234 grams, the Mi 11 Ultra is even slightly heavier.
After the trio of the Galaxy S21 series presented by Samsung launched another model in early 2022 with a slight delay: a so-called “Fan Edition” of the Galaxy S21. Measured by the size of the Galaxy S21 FE, the smartphone ranks between the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+.
Responsible for this is a 6.4-inch display, which Samsung positions between the 6.2-inch of the base model and the 6.7-inch of the Plus version. If the Galaxy S21 is a bit too small for you and the Plus version is too big or heavy, the Fan Edition is the perfect middle ground. With dimensions of 155.7 x 74.5 x 7.9 mm and a weight of 177 g, it is still pleasantly handy and light, which is also achieved by the plastic back.
The Galaxy S21 FE is a bit behind its siblings in terms of the overall equipment. With the Fan Edition, Samsung targets the “budget flagship” market. You get a cheaper Galaxy S smartphone with many top features and minor adjustments. A high-quality OLED display and a powerful processor are on board, but you have to compromise camera equipment or RAM, for example. Does the price suit you, but not the size of the Galaxy S21 FE? Keep an eye out for cheap deals on the “regular” Galaxy S21.
