Value Stream Management: LeanIX launches One Of The First SaaS Offers

LeanIX is now expanding its portfolio to include Value Stream Management. The SaaS solution supports companies in combining business requirements and technological solutions.

As an expert in managing complex IT landscapes, LeanIX is now offering a new product on its Continuous Transformation Platform for development departments, DevOps teams, and product IT. With LeanIX Value Stream Management (VSM), business requirements and technological solutions can be harmonized, optimizing software development processes. End-to-end transparency about the delivery of software links code and business results.

This enables the teams to make data-based decisions, a better exchange of knowledge, and increase productivity. LeanIX VSM was designed for modern software development departments: It offers a variety of integrations and uses flow metrics to help avoid redundancies, measure the business success of software developments and strengthen governance.

The Use Of Value Stream Management In Companies Is Still Not Very Widespread

The State of Value Stream Management Report 2021 published by the VSM Consortium states that organizations strive to focus on business results. However, only a few use the technologies available that make this easier, as the survey shows. For example, 36 percent of those surveyed state that they still manually link data streams to connect with the business results. And of the 44 percent of respondents who automated this task, only eight percent are currently using a specially developed platform for value stream management, while a further 16 percent are in the implementation phase.

“We have to enable executives in software development, the DevOps teams, and product IT to use a common language,”. “DevOps initiatives increase complexity through various toolsets, cross-functional processes, and new ways of working. This makes it difficult for software teams to measure the actual value of their work to the company. To meet the needs of development departments and IT managers alike, LeanIX VSM links the existing knowledge and process processes. This increases the reliability of software, improves the effectiveness of the allocation of resources, and helps organizations make more reliable decisions. ”

Value Stream Management Offers Dashboards, Reports, And Catalogs

To further develop the previous Cloud Intelligence and Microservice Intelligence solutions, LeanIX VSM contains a new set of integrations. Cataloging is expanded, and additional data is available from previously unconnected teams, tools, and environments. Within a holistic solution with many dashboards, reports, and catalogs, the units can also uncover bottlenecks in development pipelines and public cloud and cloud-native instances such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Kubernetes.

“It is an enormous challenge to link software artifacts and services with one another to measure their performance. But it is time for software departments to get an aggregated, comprehensive view of selected data so that decisions are no longer made based on gut instinct,”. “The more development departments, DevOps teams, and product IT make this flow of value visible within their organizations, the more data is available to understand which tools and processes deliver value and which do not. With LeanIX VSM, we enable this proactive approach. In this way, we help measure the KPIs over time and gain concrete, implementable knowledge relevant for the future. ”

LeanIX Opens New Offices And Expands Its Management Team

LeanIX has now opened new offices in Munich and Amsterdam. In addition, the software company founded in 2012 has appointed Anja Stapelfeld as Chief People Officer and Mark Wheeler as Chief Marketing Officer. Since the beginning of 2020, the number of employees at LeanIX has doubled to over 400. With the two new locations, the company wants to strengthen its presence in Europe. LeanIX has been represented in Munich for a year and has opened a new office in Mindspace Stachus. Christopher Cole, Senior Vice President EMEA at LeanIX, heads the office, which currently has 20 employees and is to be expanded.

With the office in Munich and the newly opened Amsterdam office in Prins Bernhardplein and the existing branch in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and the Bonn headquarters, LeanIX is now represented in four European cities.

The new offices are the next logical step in the company’s development: “We have been growing continuously since our foundation in 2012. After the last financing round of over 80 million US dollars in 2020, we took over a US company this spring and thus entered the future market for SaaS management. Shortly before our 10th anniversary next year, we are sending out a signal in Europe with the new offices. At the same time, we are strengthening our management team and expanding our product portfolio. We are ready for more. ”

Further Development Of The Corporate Culture

With a view to the dynamic growth, André Christ has decisively strengthened the management in two company areas, as he explains: “Our team has not only grown significantly. It is also spread across more and more locations around the world. That is why it is so essential that we invest in the corporate culture and develop it further. With Anja Stapelfeld, our new CPO, we have the ideal manager on board to optimize these processes. It is just as essential for us to strengthen the LeanIX brand in these times of change. As an experienced international marketing specialist, Mark Wheeler is the perfect fit. As the new CMO, he will use innovative strategies to expand our global reach to new markets.

I am looking forward to working with you and the new paths that we will take together. ”

Anja Stapelfeld can already look back on an extraordinary career in human resources at international companies. She has worked in several responsible positions at CA Technologies and GlaxoSmithKline. And helped achieve unicorn status with her involvement in relevant initiatives at Sitecore and PatSnap. She is particularly experienced in programs for employee engagement and cultural change in companies. And she has a keen sense of when to accelerate, change or maintain the chosen path.

Mark Wheeler brings more than 20 years of marketing experience in the IT industry to his new position at LeanIX. He served as vice president of marketing for Dell EMC, Sitecore, and, most recently, Nutanix. He has built influential marketing organizations in large corporations as well as in fast-growing, private equity-financed companies. He wants to take on the previous success story of LeanIX. And also decisively promote the further growth of the company with effective marketing and customer experiences.

Enterprise Architecture Management Is Now Available In The SAP Store

In addition, LeanIX, an SAP partner since February 2021, announced that the solution for Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) is now listed in the SAP Store. SAP Store is the online marketplace for SAP and offers from partners. Integrated with SAP Signavio Process Manager via an interface, LeanIX provides comprehensive data on applications, interfaces, and user groups. This transparency of the existing IT and SAP landscape is also one of the critical factors for companies to implement a transformation based on SAP S / 4HANA.

“Enabling continuous transformation in companies: That is the mission of LeanIX. Our technology can help identify dependencies within highly integrated ERP landscapes to support the SAP S / 4HANA transformation. This is exactly where we come in and can offer customers real added value. We are pleased that LeanIX Enterprise Architecture Management is now available in the SAP Store. We are convinced that we will continue to expand our partnership with a view to the future viability of companies,”.
