How to test the speed of your hard drive

• Step 1: Start PowerShell by right-clicking the Windows icon in the lower-left and selecting ” Windows PowerShell (Administrator) “.
• Step 2: To determine the read speed of your hard disk, enter the command winsat disk -seq -read -drive x and press [Enter]. For the letter x, insert the respective letter of the drive under which your hard disk is located.
• Step 3: Wait a moment for the exam to complete. Now, look at the two values ​​in the ” Disk Sequential ” column. The first is the actual speed at which the hard drive reads files. • Step 4: To find out the write speed of your hard drive, enter the command winsat disk -seq -write -drive x, where you replace the x with the drive’s letter. Then press [Enter].
• Step 5: Here, too, you will receive two values ​​after the test. The same applies here as in step 3.
